WSB radio’s Monica Matthews is leaving the station after just over a year and a half. Although she was not exactly a WSB staple, Matthews did receive the honor of being given the top slot on the station’s noon to two p.m. slot last year, according to WSB-TV spokesman Sean Garcia. She also was one of the top ten female talk show hosts on the station. She also hosts the Life, Love and Liberty podcast.
According to her official WSB bio, Matthews’s contributions to the station include launching a live-studio call-in show that featured local celebrities and launching the radio station’s first ever podcast, which is a nod to her mother, radio legend Linda Matthews. She was also one of the first female hosts to use a tablet to deliver her show. WSB’s website says her show aired from a studio at the WSB studios in Atlanta. In early 2016, Matthews became the first woman to be given the top slot on the station. She also hosted the best-of-the-best awards show, which featured several WSB alumni. WSB-TV spokesman Sean Garica also declined to comment on Matthews’s departure. But he did confirm that Matthews’s podcast was a hit.

During her formative management years at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Monica Matthews had the opportunity to help shape the federal marketplace for talent management solutions. Matthews also works to build partnerships and improve cross-government communications. She also serves as the host of the podcast Life, Love and Liberty. In this podcast, she offers daily reminders of how to thrive in life. She also has an interest in culture and culture-related topics.
Matthews has worked to develop a pandemic action strategy for HUD. In addition, she has worked to improve cross-government communication, collaborate with governmentwide thought leaders, and leverage federal resources. She has also helped design and implement a federal marketplace for software-as-a-service technology.

RADIO HOST: Monica Matthews
WSB Radio announced that it had parted ways with its flagship talk show host, Monica Matthews. Matthews joined the station early in the year and made her debut on the noon to two p.m. time slot. While Matthews is likely no longer on the air, her former colleagues are still out and about.
Matthews was the star of her show, but it was not all good. Matthews’ daughter was injured in an attack, and she is recovering. The WSB Radio spokeswoman could not provide a more direct statement. Likewise, Matthews’ former colleagues at Cox Media Group could not provide comment. WSB’s Sean Garcia and Drew Anderssen also did not have a lot to say.
Matthews is not the only radio star to hang up her shingle in the last several months. In fact, the WSB Media Group has been losing radio subscribers left and right, and a number of veteran hosts have found themselves out of a job. Luckily for those of us who appreciate a good conversation starter, there are plenty of other radio stations vying for the same audience. Jovita Moore was diagnosed with glioblastoma. This cancer affects the brain and spine. She was diagnosed with the cancer in March and April. She had to undergo surgery. Her doctors found two small masses in her brain.
